Daniel Cortez Struck Dead by Vehicle near Marquardt Avenue and Imperial Highway

 
WHITTIER, CA (August 20, 2024) — Daniel Cortez was hit and killed by a car near Marquardt Avenue and Imperial Highway.
 
According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, Cortez passed away from blunt trauma. For an unknown reason, a driver of a Toyota Tacoma struck him around 10:24 p.m. Sunday. Soon after, California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene to investigate the crash.
 
Tragically, Cortez passed away from severe injuries, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics.
 
Authorities are investigating this crash further to identify the cause.
