Dan Murphy Killed after Cargo Van Crashes Into Semi-Truck in San Bernardino

 
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (June 15, 2022) — One person died after a cargo van crashed into the back of a big rig on the 210 Freeway near Del Rosa on June 9.
 
San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 57-year-old Desert Hot Springs resident Dan Riley Murphy.
 
According to reports, the fatal accident happened at approximately 12:02 a.m. on Thursday. Murphy drove a cargo van on eastbound 210 Freeway, just west of Del Rosa Avenue. At some point, he was involved in a rear end collision with a big rig, according to police.
 
Murphy – the driver of the van – was trapped in the driver seat. Despite life-saving rescue measures, firefighters and CHP officials pronounced Murphy deceased at the scene.
 
The semi tractor trailer driver did not sustain any injuries.
 
Soon after, California Highway Patrol officers issued a Sig Alert in order to investigate the crash.
 
At this time, the accident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. If anyone has more information, please call the CHP officers.
