Dale Erskine Killed in Head-On Accident on Mount Hermon Road [Felton, CA]

Afternoon Head-On Crash in Felton Kills 55-Year-Old Santa Cruz Man

 
FELTON, CA (November 22, 2022) – Dale Erskine was killed in a head-on crash in Felton Sunday afternoon on November 20.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 4:30 p.m. on Mount Hermon Road near Covenant Lane. According to the CHP, 64-year-old Menette Schults of Felton was driving a 2019 Lexus RX350 westbound on Mount Hermon when she crossed over into oncoming traffic. She then collided head-on with a 2007 Volkswagen Beetle, driven by the 55-year-old victim from Santa Cruz.
 
Felton Fire Protection District responded and pronounced Erskine dead at the scene.
 
Schults sustained major injuries and was transported to a trauma center in Santa Clara County.
 
The cause of the crash remained under investigation. Officers did not rule out alcohol and drugs as contributing factors.
