FRESNO COUNTY, CA (August 22, 2022)Cynthia Vang died in a car accident on Church Avenue near West Avenue.

According to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office, 30-year-old Vang died in the multi-car crash that took place on Thursday afternoon.

Under unknown circumstances, a 41-year-old driver of a Cadillac Escalade neglected to stop behind a stopped Kia. Per the investigation, a man and a woman in the westbound Kia had stopped to allow a GMC van to pass before they could turn into their residence.

However, the driver of the westbound SUV, slammed into the rear of the Kia Soul, sending it into the GMC van in a head-on fashion.

Soon after, paramedics reached the scene and brought the 31-year-old female Kia passenger, later identified as Vang, to Fresno Community Regional Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

At this time, police have not confirmed why the Escalade driver did not yield to the Kia ahead of him. They have ruled out DUI as a possible explanation. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm more details.
