Cynthia Meza Detained in Police Pursuit on Pine Street near Highway 99
LODI, CA (June 20, 2022) — Cynthia Meza faces charges after nearly hitting an officer and leading a DUI police chase on Pine Street near Highway 99 on Tuesday night.
According to the Lodi Police Department, the police chase ensued around 7:15 p.m. when 43-year-old Meza tried to run over a police officer.
Subsequently, a chase followed, and the reportedly drunk woman led officers on a chase through two different cities, reaching speeds of about 60 miles per hour.
Even after California Highway Patrol officers deployed a spike strip to perform a pit maneuver, the woman continued. However, when officers used bean bag guns to shoot the windows, the chase finally came to an end.
Officers arrested Meza following the chase for felony evasion, DUI and assault on a police officer. Although, the case remains under investigation. Thus, if anyone has more to add, please contact the CHP.
