Cristino Martinez, Santiago Martinez Hurt in DUI Rollover Crash on Highway 221 near Anderson Road

 
NAPA, CA (April 13, 2022) — Cristino Flores Martinez and Santiago Martinez were injured and then arrested after a DUI rollover accident on Highway 221 near Anderson Road Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the single-vehicle rollover accident happened around 11:43 a.m. For DUI-related reasons, 28-year-old Cristino turned onto the east shoulder but crashed his 2001 Jeep Cherokee and overturned.
 
Following the accident, both Cristino and his 35-year-old passenger, Santiago, fled the scene on foot. However, law enforcement officers were able to arrest both Jeep occupants soon after and took them to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center for treatment.
 
According to an investigation, Cristino had been under the influence, leading officers to book him into the Napa County jail on suspicion of DUI causing injury and leaving the scene.
 
In addition, officers detained Santiago on suspicion of public intoxication.
