Fatal Accident on Amargosa Road in Victorville Involves Police Cruiser

 
VICTORVILLE, CA (April 12, 2021) – A civilian was killed and a deputy was injured after an accident on Amargosa Road near Tawney Ridge Lane.
 
According to the CHP, the accident happened just after 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 11. The deputy was driving a Victorville police cruiser northbound on Amargosa Road responding to a traffic collision on Innovation Way.

A man in his early 20s was driving a 2012 BMW. He tried to turn from Tawney Ridge Lane onto Amargosa Road when he collided with the deputy’s cruiser.

The impact caused the BMW to overturn onto the sidewalk. The male driver died at the scene.

Paramedics took the deputy to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Further information about this deadly crash was not immediately available. An investigation is ongoing.
