Motorcyclist Dies after Crashing with Another Rider in Thousand Oaks

THOUSAND OAKS, CA (July 21, 2021) – Christopher Grabau died in a motorcycle accident in Thousand Oaks Sunday afternoon, July 18.

The accident happened around 1:50 p.m. on Potrero Road, just east of Lake Sherwood Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 63-year-old Ventura man was riding his motorcycle west on Potrero Road in the left lane at a high rate of speed.

Grabau’s motorcycle went over a rise in the road and collided with another motorcyclist traveling in the same lane ahead of him, CHP officials said.

Both riders were thrown from their motorcycles after the impact. Grabau suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The other rider, a 55-year-old Utah man, only had minor injuries.

This fatal crash is still under investigation.
