San Leandro School Board President Dies after Struck by Car in Oakland

 
OAKLAND, CA (December 21, 2021) – Christian Rodriguez died in a pedestrian accident in the 4000 block of Edwards Avenue in Oakland Friday, December 17.
 
The accident happened two days after Rodriguez was elected by his colleagues as a school board president. According to the San Leandro Police Department, the victim was walking with his wife when a car struck him.
 
The impact of the crash caused Rodriguez fatal injuries. Police did not indicate if he died at the scene or at the hospital.
 
Rodriguez is survived by his wife, Marina, and their three children, his mother and extended family members.
 
At this time, police are still gathering information about this fatality.
