Coroner Identifies Man Killed in Head-On Crash on Highway 4 at Dunton Road

STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (November 5, 2021)Christian Rocha was killed in a head-on accident on Highway 4 in northern Stanislaus County Saturday evening.

The accident happened around 6:00 p.m. on October 30 just east of Dunton Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, Rocha was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze westbound on the highway. At the same time, 50-year-old David McLaughlin of Arnold was heading eastbound in a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado. With him was 13-year-old Jace McLaughlin, also from Arnold.

As Rocha was passing another vehicle, crossing double yellow solid lines into the eastbound lane, he abruptly turned to the right, driving back into his lane. He then overcorrected, and the Cruze swerved back into the lane of oncoming traffic, right into the path of the Silverado. The two vehicles collided head-on.

As a result of the crash, Rocha suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 19-year-old Brentwood resident, according to the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.

Meanwhile, the McLaughlins suffered minor injuries.

This fatal crash remains under investigation.
