Manhattan Beach Crash Kills 3 and Injures 3 Others

 
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA (November 29, 2021) – Christian Mendoza, Katie-Jay Scott and Gabriel Stauring died in a four-vehicle accident in Manhattan Beach on Tuesday evening.
 
The accident happened around 9:46 p.m. on November 23, at Sepulveda Boulevard and Marine Avenue. According to the Manhattan Beach Police Department, one driver was driving very fast causing a collision.
 
Mendoza, a 48-year-old Redondo Beach resident, was in one of the vehicles. He died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
 
Scott, 40, and Stauring, 55, were in another car and also died at the scene. Both were also from Redondo Beach.
 
Three people were taken to a hospital, the two adults were in serious condition and a juvenile was listed as critical.
 
Crews closed a stretch of Sepulveda Boulevard for hours overnight while they cleared the wreckage.
 
At this time, the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
