CHP Officer Involved in Two-Vehicle Collision 5 Freeway in Shasta County
SHASTA COUNTY, CA (October 18, 2022) — An officer of the California Highway Patrol suffered injuries in a car crash on the 5 Freeway.
Based on reports, the crash took place on Friday morning at about 9:20 a.m. near the undercrossing at Highway 299.
The CHP officer was reportedly operating a marked Dodge Charger patrol car southbound on 5 Freeway when another driver cut him off. As a result, the Dodge run into the center divider wall.
The officer complained of back pain following the crash. His patrol car, meanwhile, sustained major damage.
No information was immediately available as to the condition of the driver of the second vehicle. The names of those involved were also not released.
