Escondido Motorcycle Accident on Via Rancho Parkway near Lomas Serenas Drive
ESCONDIDO, CA (April 7, 2021) – A California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer sustained injuries in an accident on Via Rancho Parkway, Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Escondido Police Department, the incident happened at about 12:50 p.m. A driver attempted to make a left turn when her Nissan Rogue pulled in front of the CHP officer. Then, the motorcycle and the SUV collided near Lomas Serenas Drive.
The impact of the crash ejected the officer from his motorcycle near the Westfield North County shopping center.
Emergency crews rushed the officer to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido with severe injuries. Authorities did not release the name of the CHP officer.
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Responders temporarily closed Lomas Serenas Drive in both directions.
Escondido police ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the collision. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
