Children Among 5 Dead in French Camp Solo-Car Accident on 5 Freeway
FRENCH CAMP, CA (March 15, 2021) — Children were among five killed in a solo-car accident on the 5 Freeway near Roth Road Thursday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 11:00 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a 1997 Toyota sedan veered off the freeway, struck a highway sign and crashed through a fence. Subsequently, the car crashed into a tree at a high rate of speed.
As a result, five people died in the accident. Per reports, the victims include two children, the 33-year-old male driver and a 42-year-old woman.
At this time, crash detectives believe DUI played a role in the accident. However, if anyone has more information on this fatal accident, please contact the CHP Stockton office.
