Chase Lemenager Turns Himself in After Deadly Pedestrian Crash on Forty Mile Road near Highway 65

 
WHEATLAND, CA (February 7, 2023) — Chase Lemenager turned himself in following a fatal pedestrian accident on Forty Mile Road near Highway 65.
 
According to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 4:41 a.m. Monday. As two pedestrians were walking northbound along the southbound lane of Forty Mile Road, a driver reportedly struck one of them — a 28-year-old Marysville man — hurling him into a nearby ditch where he died from his injuries. The driver did not stop but fled the scene.
 
Soon after, authorities responded to the scene near the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento and pronounced the victim deceased. Officials have withheld his name pending notification of next of kin. The only witness appears to be the other pedestrian walking with him.
 
After identifying the car’s license plate, authorities responded to a residence but found the driver nowhere on the premise. Moments later, Chase Lemenager, later identified as the owner of the vehicle, turned himself into the Yuba Sutter Office later in the morning.
 
Authorities do not suspect alcohol or drugs to have played a factor in the accident, but an ongoing investigation continues.
