Deadly Crash in Thousand Palms Involves Two Big Rigs and Car

 
THOUSAND PALMS, CA (February 5, 2025) – Carolina Navarrete De Leal and Fabian Zamora died in a three-vehicle accident in Thousand Palms Tuesday afternoon on February 4.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 1:00 p.m. on 10 Freeway near Washington Street. According to the CHP, a white Toyota was traveling westbound when it abruptly turned to the right. It then collided with a blue big rig.
 
The impact caused the Toyota to crash into a red disabled semi truck, which was broken down on the right shoulder.
 
A white repair truck was parked directly in front of the disabled semi. The driver of the repair truck was actively working on the disabled semi.
 
The blue big rig continued and collided with the repair truck and its driver.

As a result, the maintenance repair driver and the driver of the Toyota both died at the scene.

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the fatal victims as 49-year-old Carolina Navarrete De Leal of Coachella and 31-year-old Fabian Zamora of Indio.

Meanwhile, paramedics took the driver of the blue big rig to Desert Regional Medical Center in an unknown condition.

An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
