Authorities Identify Tobias Benito and Carlos Redondo in Jefferson Park Car Crash

 
JEFFERSON PARK, CA (April 5, 2021) – Authorities released the names of the two victims killed in a fiery accident in Jefferson Park.
 
The coroner’s office identified them as 23-year-old Carlos Maradiaga Redondo of Los Angeles and 38-year-old Tobias Benito.
 
The fatal crash happened around 3:40 a.m. Saturday, April 3 in the 3700 block of South Arlington Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Two vehicles had collided for unknown reasons, at least one of them caught fire.
 
Responding firefighters found three people trapped in the wreckage. Benito and Redondo were pronounced dead at the scene.
 
A third patient was extricated and taken to a hospital in critical condition.
 
The Los Angeles Police Department is still working on the crash to determine the exact cause and factors involved.
