Two Vehicles Collide in Porter Ranch Killing Driver Carlos Govea who Ran a Red Light

 
PORTER RANCH, CA (March 8 2021) – Authorities identified Carlos Govea as the driver who died in a two-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon in Porter Ranch.
 
The accident happened around 2:40 p.m., March 6, in the 10800 block of North Tampa Avenue near Chatsworth Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
 
Govea, a 50-year-old Palmdale resident, was driving northbound on North Tampa Avenue when failed to stop for a red light. Another vehicle traveling westbound on Chatsworth Street then broadsided his car. The impact caused Govea’s car to strike a pole.
 
Los Angeles firefighters extricated Govea from his vehicle and tried saving him, but he died at the scene.
 
The other driver, a 21-year-old man, complained of pain and was treated at the scene.
 
Some lanes of Tampa and Chatsworth Street were shut down for the investigation by the Valley Traffic Bureau.
