Police Arrest Keiahna Moody for DUI after Crash that Killed Passenger Carlie Kelley

 
HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA (January 19, 2022) – Carlie Kelley was killed in a DUI accident in Humboldt County on Saturday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 2:53 p.m. on January 15 on Pine Creek Road at Moon Lane. According to the CHP, 18-year-old Keiahna F. Moody of Salyer was driving her 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser while impaired when she went off the roadway. The Chrysler then hit a ditch and overturned.
 
Kelly, also an 18-year-old from Hoopa, was ejected from the car and died at the scene.
 
Moody and another passenger, Ahmiwhhyol Pole, sustained minor injuries.
 
Police later arrested Moody on suspicion of driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter.
 
The CHP is still investigating the accident. They asked anyone with information to contact the Humboldt Area CHP Office at 707-822-5981.
