Authorities Identify Carissa Bowman as Fatal Victim of Carmichael Head-On Crash
CARMICHAEL, CA (January 4, 2022) – Carissa Francine Bowman was killed in a head-on accident in Carmichael Wednesday last week.
The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. on December 29. According to the Sacramento Metro Fire Department, Bowman was driving a Kia Optima when she allowed her car to travel into oncoming traffic, hitting a Ford Fusion head-on.
As a result, Bowman suffered critical injuries. First responders rushed her to a hospital, where she later died. She was a 38-year-old Carmichael resident.
Three passengers in the Optima, a 13-year-old, a 10-year-old and a 6-year-old, all suffered major injuries.
The 52-year-old driver and sole occupant of the Fusion also sustained major injuries.
At this time, the case is still under investigation, but investigators suspect alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the crash.
