Authorities Identify 77-Year-Old Woman Killed in Santa Clara Pedestrian Accident

 
SANTA CLARA, CA (March 26, 2021) – A woman was hit and killed by a vehicle Wednesday morning in Santa Clara.
 
The Santa Clara Police Department said the accident happened around 8:00 a.m., March 24, at Monroe Street and Augusta Place.
 
77-year-old Cam Van Nguyen of Santa Clara was walking near the intersection when a Nissan Armada, driven by a 42-year-old man, hit her. She suffered fatal injuries from the impact and died at the hospital.
 
Police interviewed the driver at the scene and said there were no signs of impairment or distraction. They have not yet determined why Nguyen was on the roadway and said she was outside the normal corner-to-corner crossing path for that intersection.
