Coroner Identifies Motorcyclist Caleb Romero Killed in Santa Clarita Crash
SANTA CLARITA, CA (July 12, 2021) – Caleb Romero died in a motorcycle accident in Santa Clarita Wednesday morning, July 7.
The accident happened around 10:45 a.m. on Soledad Canyon Road near the Saugus Speedway. According to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, Romero was riding his motorcycle when for unknown reasons, he crashed into the trailer attached to a city of Santa Clarita maintenance vehicle.
The maintenance vehicle was stopped in the third lane with its warning lights on, as well as a lighted arrow, directing traffic to the second lane prior to the crash.
As a result, Romero suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 20-year-old Canyon Country resident, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
Romero’s employer set up a GoFundMe account to help the victim’s family.
The crash is under investigation.
