Bussie Alton Dies in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Riverside Drive

 
WATSONVILLE, CA (December 2, 2021) — A man died in a multi-car accident on Riverside Drive, also known as Highway 129, near Harvest Drive on November 29.
 
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 59-year-old Bussie James Alton of Marina.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-vehicle collision happened around 6:30 a.m. For unknown reasons, a 2006 Toyota Tacoma and a 2019 Ford F-650 towing a utility trailer collided while heading westbound on Riverside Drive. Subsequently, both vehicles overturned.
 
A trailer connected to the F-650 disconnected and crashed into a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu traveling east.
 
The trailer crash killed Alton, the driver of the Malibu.
 
Following the crash, paramedics tended to the 50-year-old driver of the Toyota and the 30-year-old driver of the Ford, both of whom suffered minor injuries.
