Bruce Phillips Dies in Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Accident near Century Boulevard and Success Avenue

LOS ANGELES, CA (November 18, 2022) Bruce Phillips died in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident near Century Boulevard and Success Avenue.

According to reports, the hit-and-run motorcycle accident took place on October 22 near Ted Watkins Park. Under unclear conditions, a hit-and-run driver, described as a white pickup truck, performed an illegal turn. Phillips, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle down Century Boulevard near Success Avenue, immediately swerved to avoid the impact. Subsequently, he either fell or jumped off his motorcycle and an oncoming Toyota hit him. The driver of the silver Toyota, however, fled the scene from the crash. It’s been reported that two other cars ran over him, but details appear unclear.

The Louisiana-born motorcyclist who moved to South Los Angeles when he was five suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Now, his family wants answers.

Per the investigation, authorities determined that the silver Toyota belonged to a rental company, EZ 2 Rent a Car. The manager of the company stated that the person who rented the car informed them that the car went missing after having been parked. However, the company found the car totaled.

At this time, investigators are looking into this crash more closely to identify the suspects involved in this accident. If anyone has more information, please call the California Highway Patrol.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of Bruce Phillips.
