Authorities Identify 24-Year-Old Driver Bruce Acosta Killed in Baldwin Park Two-Car Crash

BALDWIN PARK, CA (March 30, 2021) – Authorities Monday identified a man who was killed in a two-car accident in the Baldwin Park area.

The crash happened around 11:19 p.m. Sunday, March 28 on 605 Freeway near Ramona Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

24-year-old Bruce Acosta of Cudahy was driving a silver 2018 Nissan Rogue northbound on the freeway. For unknown reasons, he veered off the right side of the freeway and onto the embankment. The Nissan then went back onto the freeway.

Another motorist, a 23-year-old resident of Baldwin Park, was driving a white Toyota traveling northbound on 605 freeway at approximately 70 mph and was unable to avoid the Nissan as it veered back onto the freeway.

The two vehicles collided, killing Acosta upon impact.

Paramedics took the other driver to a hospital with minor injuries.

At this point, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash. Anyone with further information is urged to call the CHP Baldwin Park Area office at 626-338-1164.
