Brittany Turner Dies after Crossing Over Yellow Lines in Crash on Highway 20 in Lake County

 
LAKE COUNTY, CA (August 8, 2021) – Police identified Brittany Turner as the victim who died in a head-on crash on Highway 20 on July 31.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just west of Blue Lakes Road at approximately 2:50 PM.
 
Based on reports, Turner was driving a 1997 Mazda Protege sedan eastbound on the highway at the time of the crash. At the same time, 18-year-old Robert Fetzer of Redwood Valley was driving westbound and approaching the Mazda in a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta. Then, Turner crossed over the solid double yellow lines and collided head-on into the Volkswagen.
 
As a result, Turner died on the scene. Officials with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office identified her as Brittany Marie Turner, 31. Her passenger, 34-year-old Patrick Turner, suffered major injuries. Fetzer and his passenger, Taylor Travis, 19, of Ukiah, had minor injuries.
 
At this point, the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
