Motorcyclist Dies Three Weeks after Crash with Travel Trailer in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 12, 2025)Brian Michael Dwerlkotte was killed in a motorcycle accident in Bakersfield on December 21.
 
The fatal accident happened around 12:55 p.m. on 7th Standard Road at Golden State Highway. According to the California Highway Patrol, Dwerlkotte was riding his motorcycle eastbound on 7th Standard Road when he collided with a travel trailer.
 
Dwerlkotte suffered significant injuries from the crash. He was rushed to Kern Medical in critical condition.
 
Despite life-saving efforts at the hospital, Dwerlkotte was declared dead on January 5, three weeks after the crash. He was a 44-year-old Bakersfield resident, according to the Kern County Coroner.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved are still under investigation.
