Brett Harill Dies in Sacramento Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (March 8, 2022) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 99 near Mack Road on Tuesday, March 1.
 
Officials identified the victim as 55-year-old Brett Evan Harill.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 9:33 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway 99 near Mack Road.
 
For unknown reasons, Harill began crossing the southbound lanes of the highway when an oncoming white Chevrolet Silverado struck him.
 
Shortly after, the 18-year-old driver pulled over and contacted authorities and paramedics.
 
Harill died at the scene.
 
Caltrans said at least two lanes were blocked and it was unclear when they would reopen.
 
At this time, detectives have not confirmed the circumstances and primary cause of this accident on Highway 99. However, anyone with information should contact CHP.
