12-Year-Old Killed, Teen Hurt in Acton Accident on Antelope Valley Freeway
ACTON, CA (April 26, 2021) – A 12-year-old boy was killed in a two-vehicle accident on the Antelope Valley Freeway in Acton late Friday evening, April 23.
The accident happened around 11:05 p.m. on the 14 Freeway just north of Crown Valley Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2011 Honda Accord rear ended a 1999 Honda Accord. The impact caused the 1999 Accord to spin out of control and come to a rest within the northbound lanes of traffic.
Paramedics rushed the 12-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the 1999 Accord, to a hospital. Sadly, the boy died while undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, a 15-year-old boy in the car suffered major injuries.
Two other people, a 33-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, escaped with just minor injuries.
CHP officials are still investigating whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. They asked anyone with information regarding the crash to call them at 661-948-8541.
