Bobby Jacobs Jr. Dies in El Cajon Hit-and-Run

 
EL CAJON, CA (April 6, 2021) – Authorities Friday released the name of a 56-year-old man died in a hit-and-run accident in El Cajon.
 
He was Bobby Jo Jacobs Jr., according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
Jacobs Jr. was riding in a car that was struck by a tow truck as both vehicles were headed south in the 200 block of Jamacha Road shortly after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 30.
 
The truck then veered off the roadway and crashed into several palm trees in front of an apartment complex. The driver of the big rig jumped out and ran off, police said.
 
Paramedics rushed Jacobs to Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, where he died the following day.
 
As officers documented the crash, the tow truck driver returned to the scene of the accident. They arrested him on suspicion of hit-and-run.
 
An investigation into this hit-and-run crash is ongoing.
