Police Arrest Jessica Carrillo for DUI after Fatally Striking Bicyclist in Rancho Cucamonga

 
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (June 29, 2022) – A bicyclist died and police arrested Jessica Carrillo after a DUI crash on Archibald Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday night.
 
The crash happened around 6:50 p.m. on June 25, near the Pacific Electric Trail crossing. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the 19-year-old suspect from San Bernardino was driving a black Acura TSX when she ran a red light and struck the bicyclist.
 
As a result of the crash, the bicyclist suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
 
Police determined that Carrillo was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. They arrested her on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, DUI causing injury and DUI causing injury with a blood alcohol content over .08 percent.
 
An investigation is ongoing.
