Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Cargo Van on Old Bayshore Highway in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (January 9, 2022) – A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash old Old Bayshore Highway in San Jose Wednesday night.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:15 p.m. on January 5, near Highway 101. According to the San Jose Police Department, a cargo van was heading south on Queens Lane and turned left onto eastbound Old Bayshore Highway when it struck the bicyclist.
 
After the crash, the driver of the van did not stop to render aid.
 
First responders rushed the bicyclist to a hospital, where the victim succumbed to his injuries.
 
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office withheld the identity of the bicyclist pending next of kin notification.
 
Police described the suspect vehicle as a white full-size cargo van of an early 2000s model with a roof rack.
