Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Alondra Boulevard in Gardena

 
GARDENA, CA (November 30, 2021) – A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Alondra Boulevard in Gardena, early Sunday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:40 a.m. on November 28 at the intersection with Vermont Avenue. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the bicyclist was in a marked crosswalk on Alondra when a northbound vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed struck them.
 
After hitting the victim, the involved driver did not stop, but instead continued northbound.
 
The bicyclist, a 39-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities withheld his identity pending notification of next of kin.
 
Investigators had no suspect information or vehicle description at this time. They asked any witnesses of the crash to call the Police Department at 323-421-2500.
 
The city of Los Angeles offered a standing reward of up to $50,000 for information that helps authorities solve this fatal hit-and-run.
