Bicyclist Succumbs to Injuries Wednesday after Crash near Leigh Avenue in San Jose on April 1

 
SAN JOSE, CA (April 22, 2021) – A bicyclist succumbed to his injuries after an accident near Leigh Avenue and West San Carlos Street earlier this month.
 
The accident happened around 9:45 p.m. on April 1. According to San Jose police, a man was riding his bike across West San Carlos Street when an eastbound motorcyclist struck him.
 
Arriving units took the bicyclist to a local hospital with major injuries. He remained hospitalized until he died early Wednesday, April 21.
 
A news release sent out by police did not state whether the motorcycle rider, who reportedly sustained minor injuries, was arrested or cited.
 
Police said the bicyclist, who has not been formally identified by the coroner’s office, was not in the intersection when he was hit. They asked anyone with further information about the crash to contact traffic Detective Eliseo Malvido at 408-277-4654.
