30-Year-Old Cyclist Hospitalized after Mission Bay Park Hit-and-Run
MISSION BAY PARK, CA (August 10, 2021) – A 30-year-old bicyclist sustained injuries in a hit-and-run collision on Mission Bay Drive on Monday, August 2.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened at about 10:18 p.m. A vehicle reportedly ran a red light and hit the bicyclist near the area of West Mission Bay Drive and Quivira Road.
Emergency responders rushed the man to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries, including a laceration to his spleen, liver, and kidney. As per reports, the cyclist also suffered an aortic dissection.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene on foot.
