Bicyclist Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Highway 1 in San Gregorio

 
SAN GREGORIO, CA (June 27, 2022) — A bicyclist was hit and killed by a car on Highway 1 near San Gregorio Road on Saturday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 6:15 p.m. For possible speed-related reasons, a driver in a gray Nissan Altima heading northbound on the highway lost control of the vehicle.
 
Subsequently, the Nissan entered the bike lane and struck the bicyclist, sending the individual down an embankment. Meanwhile, the Nissan veered into oncoming traffic where it crashed into a blue Subaru Outback.
 
Shortly after, paramedics and authorities responded and brought the two drivers to a hospital in unknown conditions. The unidentified bicyclist, however, suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
 
At this time, police have neither cited nor arrested anyone involved in the incident. However, an investigation into the crash should confirm more details.
