Bertha Nunez Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash at Firestone Boulevard and Pioneer Boulevard
NORWALK, CA (August 11, 2021) — Bertha Nunez died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident at Firestone Boulevard and Pioneer Boulevard Sunday morning.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the hit-and-run accident happened around 8:15 a.m. Per reports, a driver in a white GMC Savana 3500 van pulled out of a parking lot and struck 75-year-old Nunez.
For unclear reasons, the driver left the scene. He returned a few moments later, but failed to notify deputies that he had been the driver.
Due to her severe injuries, the Norwalk woman died at the scene.
