Plane Crashes near Rio Vista Municipal Airport Killing Two People

 
RIO VISTA, CA (June 10, 2023) – Benjamin Shreve and Jesse Buckner were killed in a plane crash in Rio Vista Thursday morning on June 8.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:45 a.m. near the Rio Vista Municipal Airport at 3000 Baumann Road. According to the Rio Vista Fire Department, a single-engine Steen Skybolt airplane had crashed in unclear circumstances.
 
When officers arrived, they found two people trapped inside the aircraft. Both were already dead.
 
On Friday, the Solano County Sheriff’s Office identified the two victims as 41-year-old Benjamin Shreve of Concord and 33-year-old Jesse Buckner from Martinez.
 
The plane’s flight path before the crash is unknown. The FAA, NTSB, and Solano County Sheriff’s Office are handling the investigation.
