Firefighter in Critical Condition after Traffic Crash on 15 Freeway and L Street

 
BARSTOW, CA (December 6, 2021) — A Barstow firefighter was hurt in a traffic accident on 15 Freeway on Sunday, December 5.
 
The incident happened at around 3:26 am along the northbound 15 Freeway and L Street.
 
Officials said that while fire crews treat patients and prepare to leave the area, a car moving at highway speeds hit one firefighter.
 
The firefighter suffered major injuries and received immediate treatment from his crew. Then medics airlifted him to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.
 
The Fire District will release more information as it becomes available.
 
California Highway Patrol and Barstow Police Department continue to investigate the incident.
