Bardomiano Bautista-Perez Dies When Palm Fronds Collapses on Him on Bonita Verde Drive near Yerba Lane

 
BONITA, CA (February 16, 2023) — Bardomiano Bautista-Perez died while trimming a palm tree on Bonita Verde Drive near Yerba Lane.
 
According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, the fatal incident happened around 11:30 a.m. Monday. Bardomiano Bautista-Perez, of Escondido, was reportedly at the top of a palm tree in the 3500 block of Yerba Lane when he became trapped and suspended among the cut foliage.
 
Soon after, emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found his co-workers trying to free him from the heavy fronds, which kept him pinned and suspended about 50 feet above the ground. Firefighters intervened with a ladder but only discovered that he had died.
 
At this time, his cause of death remains under investigation. If anyone has more information on this fatal incident, which involved about a half hour to free him from the fronds, please call the Chula Vista Police.
