Breann Alizaga Dies in Corona DUI Hit-and-Run Crash on 91 Freeway, Baltazar Villanuevaramos and Luis Leonides Arrested

 
CORONA, CA (April 7, 2021) – Police arrested Baltazar Villanuevaramos and Luis Alberto Leonides after a deadly DUI hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning, April 4.
 
The crash happened just before 2:30 a.m. on 91 Freeway west of Green River Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
 
Leonides, a 22-year-old Santa Ana resident, was driving a Nissan. For unknown reasons, the car stalled in the eastbound lanes of the freeway. A Camaro traveling at approximately 67 mph then struck the Nissan.
 
Following the impact, Leonides pulled the passenger from the vehicle and placed her on the ground and took off, the CHP said. That passenger died at the scene.
 
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 21-year-old Breann Alizaga of Anaheim.
 
Villanuevaramos, a 34-year-old Moreno Valley resident, was the driver of the Camaro. Police arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence.
 
Leonides later returned to the scene and was also arrested on suspicion of DUI as well as hit-and-run, the CHP said.
 
No further information has been released at this time. An investigation is underway.
