Crash on 80 Freeway in Davis Kills 1-Year-Old Girl, Seriously Injures Linda Jones and Robert Williams

 
DAVIS, CA (December 6, 2021) – A 1-year-old girl died and two adults suffered serious injuries in a three-vehicle pileup on 80 Freeway in Davis early Thursday morning.
 
The crash happened a little after 4:00 a.m. on December 2, along the eastbound lanes of the freeway, just west of Richards Boulevard. According to the CHP, 42-year-old Robert Williams was driving his Toyota Avalon when he struck the guard rail in the center divider. The vehicle was disabled in the freeway when an approaching International box truck hit it.
 
Moments later, a Toyota Tacoma approaching in the fast lane also struck the Avalon.
 
The impact ejected the baby in the Avalon and died at the scene.
 
Williams and his other passenger, 50-year-old Linda Jones of North Highlands, both suffered major injuries. Paramedics took them to hospitals in unknown conditions.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the box truck, 33-year-old Alejandro Ledezma-Aranda of Woodland; and the driver of the Tacoma, 31-year-old Jose Rosales-Cruz Jr. of Sacramento, were unharmed.
 
At this time, this fatal crash remains under investigation. The California Highway Patrol urged anyone with information to call them at 1-800-835-5247.
