Authorities Identify ATV Rider Killed in Mead Valley Hit-and-Run
MEAD VALLEY, CA (April 6, 2021) – The Riverside County coroner’s office Sunday named the ATV rider who died in a hit-and-run in Mead Valley.
The crash happened around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 1 in the 20700 block of Myron Street near Mead Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The coroner’s office said 17-year-old Axel Perez of Perris was riding the ATV when he collided with an unknown vehicle. He sustained fatal injuries from the impact and died before paramedics arrived.
Perez was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, officers said.
The involved vehicle did not stop to render aid. It was last seen heading eastbound on Myron Street toward Brown Street.
At this time, authorities are still investigating and on the lookout for the suspect.
