FAIRFIELD, CA (November 8, 2021) — At least one person died in a car crash on the 80 Freeway near Waterman Boulevard Thursday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 11:45 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a crash occurred on the westbound lanes of the highway.
 
As a result, officials issued a SigAlert, which halted traffic due to the investigation and cleanup.
 
By 2:03 a.m., CHP officers cleared the roadway and traffic resumed.
