At Least 5 Hurt in Car Crash at Greenwood Avenue in Sanger

SANGER, CA (May 31, 2022) — At least five people were injured in a car accident at Greenwood Avenue and American Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened on Monday. For unknown reasons, a driver of a GMC Acadia heading southbound did not stop for the stop sign. As a result, the GMC slammed into a Jeep Liberty, sending the Jeep into a power pole.

Shortly after, paramedics responded and airlifted one person from the GMC to a hospital, and PG&E tended to the down power pole. Meanwhile, paramedics brought four other people by ground ambulance for care.

At this time, officers believe impairment played a role on the Jeep driver’s part, later leading to the driver’s arrest. Although, if anyone has more information on this accident, please call the CHP.
