37-Year-Old Woman Dies after Struck by Two Vehicles on 405 Freeway in Inglewood

 
INGLEWOOD, CA (April 18, 2021)Ashley Burnham was killed in a pedestrian accident in Inglewood Saturday evening, April 17.
 
The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. along southbound 405 Freeway, just south of Arbor Vitae Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 37-year-old Inglewood resident was running from the center divider into the first lane of the southbound freeway when a 1999 Land Rover Range Rover struck her. Moments later, a 2015 Nissan Altima also hit her.
 
As a result, Burnham suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Both drivers involved pulled over and cooperated with authorities.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in this fatal crash. CHP officials are still working on the accident to determine liability.
