Arturo Garcia Charged in DUI, Wrong-Way Deadly Crash on Highway 65 near Pleasant Grove Boulevard

 
ROSEVILLE, CA (February 28, 2022) — Arturo Garcia faces DUI charges in a wrong-way fatal accident on Highway 65 near Pleasant Grove Boulevard.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal wrong-way accident happened around 10:00 p.m. For DUI-related reasons, 34-year-old Garcia began driving his white 2015 Subaru Impreza in the wrong direction of the southbound center divider.
 
Shortly after, he swerved left from the center divider into the fast lane where his Subaru collided with a 1994 Toyota Corolla head-on.
 
Due to the nature of the crash, the 39-year-old man driving the Toyota suffered fatal injuries and died at a hospital. Meanwhile, officers arrested the severely injured Garcia on suspicion of DUI. A third driver whose car sustained damage from debris avoided injury.
 
At this time, police have not released the fatal victim’s name due to pending notification of family. In the meantime, police will look into the outstanding details of this crash.
