Artemio Hernandez Dies in El Segundo Multi-Car Crash Involving Caltrans Truck

 
EL SEGUNDO, CA (April 29, 2022) — One person died in a multi-car accident on the 105 Freeway near Nash Street on Sunday.
 
Police identified the victim as 42-year-old Artemio Hernandez, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the three-vehicle accident happened on the eastbound side of 105 Freeway around 8:00 a.m.
 
For unknown reasons, a driver in a white Chevy Malibu struck the rear of an unoccupied Caltrans truck parked in the center divider. Subsequently, a third vehicle became involved.
 
The driver of the white sedan – Hernandez – died at the scene. However, police did not provide additional details on any other victims.
 
CHP officers issued a Sig Alert around 8:20 a.m. and closed the No. 1 and 2 lanes for the investigation. However, an ongoing investigation into this incident should confirm more details.
