Aristides Guerra Dies in 4-Car Crash near Bear Street and Sunflower Avenue

 
COSTA MESA, CA (May 12, 2021) — Aristides Guerra died in a four-car accident near Bear Street and Sunflower Avenue Sunday afternoon.
 
According to the Costa Mesa police department, the accident happened around 1:54 p.m. and involved four vehicles. Upon arrival, police found a man trapped in an overturned vehicle, who appeared unresponsive.
 
Shortly after, Costa Mesa fire and rescue arrived and determined that 53-year-old Guerra had died from his injuries. He had been the Santa Ana man trapped in the overturned car.
 
Meanwhile, a second driver complained of pain, along with two passengers from the same vehicle. A third person sustained apparent back pain while the fourth driver reported no injuries.
 
At this time, officers have yet to determine whether DUI played a role. However, if anyone has more information, please contact the Costa Mesa police.
