91-Year-Old Mentone Woman Dies in Redland Crash Involving Two Vehicles

 
REDLANDS, CA (April 19, 2021) – Antonia Portillo died in a two-vehicle accident in Redlands late Saturday evening, April 17.
 
The accident happened around 11:12 p.m. at the intersection of Crafton Avenue and Citrus Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 91-year-old Mentone woman was a passenger in one of the involved vehicles.
 
One of the cars struck the vehicle Portillo was riding in. As a result of the impact, the victim suffered severe injuries.
 
Paramedics rushed Portillo to a hospital, where she died at 12:08 a.m. the following day.
 
At this time, CHP officials are still trying to determine if speed, drugs or alcohol factored the accident. An investigation is ongoing.
